Etta Thorpe
The Blue Community comes before you today to not only wish a Happy and memorable Birthday, but also to praise you and your works.
Over 3 years ago, you came to a barren land that beared the name DoDaBlue and that had a dictum; “A Community Of Doers. “ The community wanted its members to pursue their passion and in so doing teach, show or encourage others how to that. It rewarded its Doers activities with Karma points.
Karma: the sum of a person's actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in future existences.
And so it was that Etta became one of the first members to create on DaBlue. She wholeheartedly embraced this objective and took the time out of her busy day to water and fertilize the Community of DaBlue. She really did "Do The Do."
Some who could not comprehend her spirited mission, was a little annoyed that her frequent posts were burying theirs on the front page of most recent activities. Some said she was like a virus. Some grudgingly dubbed her as the:
“The Posting Queen.”

Nevertheless she continued her mission ignoring what others thought about her because she knew that:
1. If she died today her thoughts would die with her, if she didn't write them somewhere.
2.Time waits for no man, so she must act now before she lost the opportunity.
3. She had found a positive place to share her thoughts and written works.
4. She could tangibly see the benefit to her readers.
5. She really loved and believed in what she was doing.
Etta was also testing the site and its limitations and in so doing exposed a lot of weak links for the creator to remedy. If the traffic generated from her postings could have crashed the site, then what would a community of 100 Etta’s do? This forced the creator to go back to the drawing board over and over again, rebuilding and recreating until the site could achieve its purpose. Her hundreds of creations were subsequently split on different sites. The creator was able to do this relatively privately without suffering the consequences of a community nightmare. Because of Etta, the approach taken to deliver the mission was re-routed and reshaped. And so it was that each failure pushed the creator to create a better product.

Etta’s creations were read and are still being read by thousands in over 100 countries around the world. Did she envision this? Did she hope for this? Did she do it for this? No! Many who visit the site may not see all of its creations, because of the site’s complex design and structure of displaying different content to different websites, but that is irrelevant. As long as the mission and objectives are being achieved then that is all that matters and she knows that.
Etta, you just wanted to pursue a passion and a suppressed talent that you have had all your life. You were cognizant that cemeteries are the most richest places on earth, since they were filled with the many who died without sharing their valuable wisdom and knowledge that could have positively enhanced someone’s life or even advance mankind.
Etta Thorpe, we want you to know that we love you, cherish you and know that you did not have to lift a finger to do a single thing. You knew that talk is cheap and you were willing to put your money where your mouth is and we more than thank you.
A card or flowers is not enough, but knowing you, you don’t think much of any material thing; you would rather accept a sincere heart and a sincere thank you; I do hope you will accept ours.
