Mark you, to sell records in Jamaica, nothing different to that of Blues or Country in the United States, the song writer has to tell a story that resonate with the lives of ordinary people, and the singer has to deliver it with meaning.
For instance, just look at the playbook of the masters, Bob Marley, Yellow Man and Shabba Ranks. You cannot listen to the music of these greats and not get emotionally involved with their heart felt lyrics.
