The Legacian

Sydney O. Murray is an American media proprietor, consultant, publisher and writer. His organizations and websites promote empowerment and encourages people around the world to document their lives and perform positive deeds that will educate and enhance the lives of others.

Born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Kingston Jamaica, Murray is the only son of 7 children, parented by school Principals Sydney G. Murray and Guinevere M. Murray. His childhood experiences, teachings and mentoring primarily between the age of 8 to 18 is mostly responsible for his uniqueness, views and mission today. Throughout that age range he credits his current ideology to experiences and teachings derived from Rollington Town Primary, St. Theresa Prep, Hope Valley Experimental, Jamaica College, East Queen Street Baptist Church and Church Of The Ascension.

 In 2011, he founded DaBlue and subsequently created an online community by the name of DoDaBlue, which encouraged its members to Do what DaBlue set out to do; “Encourage others to find, their passion, pursue them and in so doing impart that legacy to others by educating them via images, words or actions.

In 2014, he founded “The Legacy Magazine” to showcase the creative works of members of his online community and to feature persons who have or who are creating legacies. It is the driving force behind his mission of encouraging others to speak write and do with the hope that it will catalyze their life’s mission and shorten their arduous and uncertain journey towards fulfilling their purpose within their allotted time.

With his mantra “Everything that a person does to positively enhance the life of another is a legacy;” He coined the word Legacian and defined it to mean; “someone who honors or create a legacy.
