Born in Jamaica in the year 1981 to parents Iva and Vincent Hunter in little district called Lewis Store my childhood years are filled with fond memories. I began school at an early age since my mother was a teacher at Highgate Hall Age Primary in Highgate, St. Mary and I was drawn to music as my dad had a small sound system that would fill the air with Bob Marleys albums every Sunday evening after church. Successfully passing my Common Entrance Examination in 1992 I moved on to St. Mary High School then subsequently to Marymount Business College and pursued additional Business Courses. Read More...

The Importance of Self Love and Worth

If you understood the importance of self love and worth you would understand that your experiences in life is directly connected to the relationship you have with your self.

What is self love? Is it being conceited? Is it being greedy and taking everything for your self leaving none for others?

As we navigate through life as children we learn how to coexist with other humans. When we become adult we make the decision who, where, what and how we will interact with each other and it is at this point self love is extremely important. Loving ones self isn’t conceited or overly confident to the point where no one else matters. It about knowing what you want, don’t want, will accept, will not accept, will divulge and will not divulge; it is being confident about you as a person and not needing anyone to lead you. elf love is looking after your own well being and happiness. This alters your life experiences as you are certain of who you are and what you are all about.

The Importance of Self Love and Worth
Many of us have no idea who we are and what we are about. We enter relationships expecting the other person should know and put some effort into getting to know us  when in fact we also need to know about ourselves. No one can make you happy but yourself.

Self love and worth walks hand in hand; if you love yourself you will know what it is that you are worth and you will ensure that your worth is not compromised no matter what. Our experiences are connected to us because we are the ones who had the experience hence if you made the connection to self love and worth the decisions you made would have been stream lined and thought about carefully.

Start a relationship with yourself today. make it a habit to explore new things and find out if you like them or not. Make jottings of what makes you happy. Know what it is tht you want out of life, out of the relationship you are currently in, out of the relationship you are about to enter and out of the relationship you have with yourself.

AND PLEASE,
Love yourself more each day, take care of your body, mind and spirit. Surround yourself with people who love themselves and understand the importance of self worth. Don’t compromise on who you are to make someone else happy. Be you and enjoy being you in the skin, body and colour you are in. You are beautiful.
